2008 Chapter Directors Elected

At the Annual Meeting & Election on October 25, 2007 two new and one returning Directors were elected.  With our thanks, we will say goodbye to outgoing directors, Leslie Martin and Everett Wilcox. New directors will begin their terms on January 1. We are pleased to welcome and introduce them to the membership.

HOLLY GOLDEN-Business Partner

Holly is a Certified Public Accountant with Robinson Grant and Co., PA, a long-term member of CAI, whose personnel have been active on the Chapter's Finance Committee and have provided pro bono tax services for the Chapter.  She is located in the Hilton Head area.  Holly has served as Treasurer for other non-profit entities and is a former accounting professor for the University of SC.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the SC Association of CPA's and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Holly's goals for the chapter and how she believes she will best serve the Chapter is through the implementation of awareness and educational programs.  Specifically she sees a need for community board members to have access to educational materials that explain audit and tax situations critical to their operations.

BEVERLY GRIFFIN-Community Volunteer

Beverly currently serves on the Board of Directors of Seagate Village POA in Myrtle Beach.  A fairly new CAI member, Beverly has dedicated herself to working for the enhancement of communities and has been active in understanding and utilizing resources through the Chapter.  She held a leadership role in the United Way in Durham, NC and is active in the Neighborhood Watch program in Myrtle Beach.

Serving on her own POA board has made Beverly aware of the need for board education throughout SC, with a focus on better communications between board and homeowners and especially the boards' role and responsibilities.  Her goals for the Chapter are to increase awareness of resources along with expanding educational opportunities for community association boards.

SANDRA SALMON-Community Volunteer

Sandra is a community volunteer member as an individual homeowner residing in Summerville.  She served on her HOA board for a total of 11 years, having held all offices and chaired most of the standing committees    during her tenure.  A CAI member since 2003, Sandra has served on the Chapter Board for almost three years and as Secretary in 2006 and 2007. During her time on the board Sandra has attended almost all chapter programs and events, has volunteered in numerous capacities and has recruited several new members.  In 2005 she arranged for an Adopt-A-Library Grant for her local community library through CAI's Research Foundation.

Sandra's focus in her leadership role with CAI is for the Chapter and CAI National to be an equal resource to all communities irrespective of size or socioeconomic makeup.  She believes more "down-in-the-trenches" workshops are key to attaining the goal of providing more board education.  She also believes that the Chapter should promote communication among community leaders to share ideas and discuss issues.  Her primary leadership role, as it has been in the past, is to continue being an advocate for members at the community volunteer and homeowner level.
