The South Carolina Chapter CAI is pleased to announce an exciting new development in the Chapter's growth. At its 2012 Planning Session on November 16th, the planning committee adopted and will be implementing regional advisory councils throughout South Carolina beginning in 2012.
Because we are a statewide chapter, we sometimes struggle to meet the needs of our members in primary region service areas. We believe that advisory council volunteer members will provide a more customized approach to enhancing membership benefits in their respective areas. The councils will report to the Chapter board of directors with a liaison assigned to each area. Generally speaking, the advisory council regions will initially include the Grand Strand and surrounding area, Charleston and surrounding area, Hilton Head/Bluffton/Beaufort, Upstate to include Greenville, Greenwood, Spartanburg and surrounding areas and the Midlands to cover Columbia and neighboring communities.
Regional Advisory Councils will be comprised of those working and/or residing within the designated geographic area as defined in each council charter. Each council will be empowered to guide chapter activities in their respective regions and may solicit involvement by others in the forms of standing and ad hoc committees as necessary. Board liaisons are as follows and anyone interested in serving on a council should contact the liaison directly to express your interest.
Grand Strand Regional Advisory Council: Rob Barlow -
Charleston Area Regional Advisory Council: Elaine Fowler -
Midlands Area Regional Advisory Council: Julie Wilson -
Upstate Area Regional Advisory Council: Wilson Bruce -
