Senate Bill 1283 - Homeowners Association Act was introduced to the Senate State Judiciary Committee on April 10, 2008.  No action has been taken yet by the Committee.

This Bill is NOT the one drafted by the SC Chapter CAI's Legislative Action Committe.  This Bill is not supported by the SCLAC and a letter asking the Judiciary Committee to hold the Bill has been sent by the Chapter.

The Chapter has proposed working with the legislators on drafting a Bill that would create uniform standards for governing documents and protect homeowners without overburdering state government or community associations.
