MEMBERSHIP

Membership growth has increased to 414 members, a 9% increase over last year at the same time, and 3% in 6 months.  The upstate of SC had lost a number of members over the past couple of years, but due to CAI programming and media attention, it has risen 6%.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

The South Carolina Chapter has held 7 events this year, including the Community Association Day Annual Conference & Trade Show.

We held a manager program with the North Carolina Chapter in March for approximately 60 managers in the Upstate, followed by another in Charleston that was also well attended.

In Myrtle Beach, a Community Essentials workshop for HOA board members drew in 65 students.

We conducted a program in Hilton Head for approximately 50 members.

An impromptu Legal Forum was held in Myrtle Beach, with about 40 community volunteers and managers in attendance.

A Greenville "Community Essentials" programs brought out 37 students in a previously under-served geographic area of membership and programming.

Our CA Day Event was a huge success with over 180 managers, community volunteers and business partners joining us for the day.

Our Executive Director visited with homeowner board members in Columbia to explain the resources offered by CAI and came away with 25 new email addresses to add to our 'Members & Friends' list.

MEMBER ACHIEVEMENTS

We are honored that Peter Kristian, GM of Hilton Head Plantation will be serving as the 2008 President of the Board of Trustees for CAI National.

There are now 112 chapter members who hold CAI designations, up from last year of 91.  Many have earned multiple designations.  Our own Chapter President-elect earned his PCAM very recently.  This many credentialed professionals is great for our industry.

With our CAI National Research Foundation, Management Company member, Gold Crown Management adopted two libraries in the Myrtle Beach area.  Over $1,200 worth of educational publications are now available in each of the libraries.
